I've also just found another reason to love my new house... according to my google-map trip up Balboa, there is an In-n-Out Burger one big block north of me. Now I'll definitely need to buy an elliptical machine for the spare bedroom....

In case you haven't already heard from me, my mom or Facebook, I found my new house yesterday (after finding what I thought might be my new house last week, and then coming to my financial senses). The owners accepted my offer last night at about 10pm and I entered escrow today.

I'm super excited because on the inside, this is my total dream-straight out of a Pottery Barn catalog-house... move-in condition with a master bathroom and closet to die for, and I won't have to eat cup-o-noodles for the rest of my life to afford to live there (like I would have with house #1 from last week). Plus I have a big yard, so if I feel like sending my cats truly over the edge into permanent psychosis, I could have a dog now!

Here are the photos I have so far. It's in Lake Balboa in the Valley. (Lake Balboa is to Van Nuys, what my soon to be ex-town Valley Village is to North Hollywood... a nice little pocket that has seceded from the gross bigger town and renamed itself.) Inspection is on Friday so think good thoughts that it's in as good shape structurally and functionally as it looks :) Assuming all goes well, I'll send out new address and phone info in mid-December.

This is a historic date in history. I am finally hopeful for our future. Americans have overwhelmingly rejected the lack of leadership we've seen over the past eight years and the centuries of prejudice this country has endured. They have voted for change and hope and fresh new ideas in the form of President Elect Barack Obama. May the next four years return us to a place of pride and prosperity and respect around the world. (Bye bye Bush. Good riddance!)
